Bonnie Crombie claims the OLP is centre-right

[edit]

the OLP leader has self defined her party as being "right of centre" perhaps we should change the position to "centre - centre right: https://www.tvo.org/article/we-govern-from-right-of-centre-bonnie-crombie-on-how-shed-lead-the-ontario-liberals Hholdenday (talk) 18:06, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Original reaserch

[edit]

Mr. No Funny Nickname no source on the page explicitly says the party is centre-left or social liberal. I also don't see anything in the source for the party's membership explicitly saying it increased, please provide a direct quote from that source which explicitly says as such. I have conducted no original research, there are sources that identify the party as both centre and centre-left. Furthermore, you have not gathered any consensus before making your changes. Mr. No Funny Nickname (talk) 19:57, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. No Funny Nickname if there are no sources that state what is in the article then that information is original research and should not be in the article. You've given no direct quotes from any sources in the Wikipedia article that state what I removed. I.e. I removed unsourced claims. Unless you can show what sources within the Wikipedia article explicitly state the claims I removed are true, then its original research and should be removed. Should we consider changing the position to “Centre”? Doesn’t make sense not to have a political position for a political party. Basically every Wiki page for Canadian political parties lists a position. I believe that “Centre to centre left” is fine, but maybe we can find consensus in the middle in order to ensure this page is providing as much info as possible. After all, liberalism is centrism. Within the Constitution of the Ontario Liberal Party (2024-09-22), listed under “1.Purpose” is as follows:
• “b) advocate for and support liberal political policies;”
Given that liberalism is commonly considering centrism, I think we can justify a “Centre” position with this as the citation. Mcnasty1point0 (talk) 17:47, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Given that liberalism is commonly considering centrism", that is WP:OR. Helper201 (talk) 23:30, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
